OTAGO is a series of strength and balance exercises delivered by a OEP certified Occupational Therapist in the home. This evidence-based program is administered by Enabled Living's OEP trained therapist to assess, coach, and progress our clients over the course of six months to one year. Recent research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine and Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention shows statistically significant improvement in clinical outcomes to reduce falls between 35 and 40% for older adults.

Senior Physiotherapy

After the initial assessment, our therapist will provide a home exercise program that addresses posture, flexibility, leg strength, and balance skills.  Exercises are performed either while sitting or standing, and often include the use of ankle weights. Once an individual is independent with the program, the therapist follows him or her for 12 months, periodically updating the exercises and tracking improvements in the functional tests. All visits take place in the individual’s home, rather than a clinic or gym.
